In 2021 Sue Woolley had the foresight to see the need for a new annual platform in the offshore pipeline industry to promote, evaluate and debate technical advances in the subsea sector, in a post pandemic world.
Using her extensive experiences of over 34 years developing and producing industry events, she launched SPT in London in 2022 and has seen it grow into the leading annual subsea pipeline technology forum it is today.
Sue believes concentrating on cultivating sincere and robust relationships with leading technical authorities and industry professionals helps her continue to deliver events to support and inform the offshore energy sector.
On the advisory committees she chairs, Sue has enlisted some of the sectors foremost experts to share their industry knowledge and experience to ensure the highest quality and technical excellence across all her events.
Sue and her team at SW Conferences Ltd regularly consult with industry leaders to develop new technical events to meet the needs of the industry which has culminated in the development of “YOPE”, a pre-congress seminar day specifically designed for Young Offshore Pipeline Engineers, which was successfully launched in 2024.

Steve started his career working for McDermott-Hudson Engineering based in the UK in 1974.
As Commercial Director at SW Conferences Ltd, he oversees all marketing, sponsorship and exhibition opportunities related to the Subsea Pipeline Technology Congress.
Steve says “Against a backdrop of geo-political challenges facing the industry, it was refreshing to hear so much positive debate and enthusiasm around new activity in the sector.
There were many lively exchanges and discussions around the potential application of new advances in technology over the two days.
Also highlighted, was the role fossil fuels will play on our journey to zero emissions in affording investment for the infrastructure required to pave our transition to the future energy mix.”
