The inaugural Subsea Pipeline Technology (SPT) Brazil Conference will take place in Rio de Janeiro, bringing together industry leaders and experts to showcase the latest developments in subsea pipeline technology from across the region and internationally.
SPT has been developed for lead engineers, subject matter experts, senior project managers and technical authorities from offshore energy companies, pipeline operators, engineering contractors, design houses, technology developers, manufacturers and the services community.
We invite you to submit your technical abstracts for consideration by the Advisory Committee for inclusion in SPT Brazil 2027. Please submit your abstract (max. 500 words) including paper title, paper outline and presenter/author details (brief biography, 100 words max.) and professional headshot.
Deadline for submission: 18 September 2026. Please submit your abstract to sue.woolley@sptcongress.com.
THEMES FOR ABSTRACTS
Technical papers should be topical and relevant to the following themes:
Developments in CO₂ and CCS
Unique specifications for ultra deepwater: design criteria, engineering, constructability
Project review, case studies and lessons learned
Integrity management and life extension of pipelines and subsea systems
Developments in design methods
Umbilicals, risers and flexible pipes
Rigid and flexible riser systems
Pipeline interfaces, tie-in and connection methods
Pipeline decommissioning
Latest developments in inspection, maintenance and repair
Digitalisation, AI and data usage
New materials
Offshore pipelay
Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) mitigation
ECA for sour service pipelines
Technology readiness levels qualification on subsea equipment and materials
If you have a technical abstract outside of the above scope which you consider to be relevant, please submit it for consideration.
Please note:
Abstracts will be selected on technical merit only; commercial presentations will not be accepted.
Submitted abstracts must have the necessary client approvals in place in order to be considered.
Abstracts should keep company promotion to an absolute minimum and if your abstract is selected, the PPT should contain only one (1) company slide.
Joint presentations between energy companies or pipeline operators and technology providers are especially welcome.
All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the SPT Advisory Committee.
Confirmed speakers are requested to provide a written paper which will be included in the congress proceedings (online) in addition to their PPT to be delivered on the day.
Speakers will be allocated 25 minutes to deliver their presentation, and questions will be taken immediately following the presentation.
Speakers (1 per presentation) attend the congress free of charge.
Co-authors registering for the congress will receive a discount (on application)
Please note: Submitting an abstract does not guarantee a speaking slot at the congress.
Speakers selected will be required to provide a written paper. Speakers not able to meet this requirement may be removed from the agenda.
