
Call for technical papers
Innovations in offshore pipeline, flexible pipe and riser technology
SPT 2025...developed by the industry for the industry
SPT 2025 will bring together key stakeholders from across the subsea and offshore pipeline supply chain providing an international platform for leading experts to share knowledge and demonstrate the latest technology innovations. Our core audience will comprise of lead engineers, senior project managers and technical authorities from offshore energy companies, pipeline operators, engineering contractors, design houses, technology developers, manufacturers and the services community.
We invite you to submit your technical abstracts for consideration by the Advisory Committee for inclusion in SPT 2025. All applications will be selected on their technical merit and potential value to the industry, commercial presentations will not be considered. Please submit your abstract (max. 250 words) including paper title, paper outline and presenter/author details (brief biography, max. 100 words) and professional headshot.

Technical papers should be topical and relevant to the following themes:
Integrity management and life extension of pipelines and subsea systems
Repurposing pipelines and pipeline networks
Offshore pipelines in the energy transition, including hydrogen, CO₂ and ammonia pipelines
Deepwater pipelines
Developments in design methods
Subsea power cables, umbilicals, risers and flexible pipes
Rigid and flexible riser systems
Pipeline interfaces, tie-in and connection methods
HPHT pipeline systems
Latest developments in inspection, repair and maintenance
Inspection, maintenance and testing of riser emergency shutdown valves on ageing pipeline systems
EPRS
Inspection of difficult to pig pipelines
Digital innovations
New products/new materials
New subsea technologies
Route surveying and selection
Installation and construction
Pre-commissioning, commissioning and decommissioning
Security, safety and environmental considerations
Case studies on recent innovative pipeline projects
If you have a technical abstract outside of the above scope which you consider to be relevant, please submit it for consideration.
Please note:
Abstracts will be selected on technical merit only; commercial presentations will not be accepted.
Abstracts should keep company promotion to an absolute minimum and if your abstract is selected, the PPT should contain only one (1) company slide,
Joint presentations between energy companies or pipeline operators and technology providers are especially welcome.
All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the SPT Advisory Committee
Confirmed speakers are requested to provide a written paper which will be included in the congress proceedings (online) in addition to their PPT to be delivered on the day.
Speakers will be allocated 25 minutes to deliver their presentation and questions will be taken immediately following the presentation.
Speakers (1 per presentation) attend the congress free of charge
Co-authors registering for the congress will receive a discount (on application)
Please note: Submitting an abstract does not guarantee a speaking slot at the congress.
Speakers selected will be required to provide a written paper. Speakers not able to meet this requirement may be removed from the agenda.
